Cozy Juice: Making Feedback Feel Touchable

Casual games rely on a sense of touch you can see. The right hint of bounce or glow makes an action feel satisfying without demanding attention. At Chamateur, we call this "cozy juice" - feedback that's warm, subtle, and consistent.
We build the feedback stack in layers: motion, sound, and light. If any layer overwhelms the others, the result stops feeling calm. Balance is everything.
Our feedback palette
- Motion: 120-180ms ease-out for taps, 220-300ms for merges.
- Sound: soft plucks and felted hits, never sharp.
- Light: warm highlights instead of particle blasts.
A simple rule that scales
If a player can still read the board while actions happen, we keep the effect. If the effect asks for attention, we trim it. Cozy juice is felt in the fingertips, not the eyes.
